Lm386 chip based mini amp (1/2 Watt)!

Here is a simple lm386 chip based 1/2 Watt amplifier on a breadboard. At the beginning of the video you can see the schematic for this circuit.

Start by placing the chip in the middle of the breadboard and work the pins for pin 1 through 8.There is a notch or a circle on one side of the pin-this is where pins 1 and 8 are located.

The speaker I used here is kind of bad so you can definitely get better sound with a good speaker.

The circuit works on a 9V battery.

Here is the schematic for the circuit.

What you will need:

-10Ω resistor
-10Κ resistor for bass boost
-.033 ceramic capasitor (for bass boost)
-.01 ceramic capasitor (it goes to the POT)
-10uF electrolytic cap. (for max gain 200)
-100uF electrolytic cap.(to pin 5 and ground)
-220uF cap (it goes to Speaker)
-10K Potensiometer (POT)-that round part.
-2 to 8Ω speaker
-9 V battery

gain
If you leave pins 1 and 8 open then you get minimal gain of twenty. Here I ve used a 10uF elec.cap. between these two pins which gives a maximum gain of 200.

bass boost
This circuit also has bass boost created with a .033 ceramic cap and an 10K resistor between pins 1 and 8.

Imporant note:
Be careful not to connect the Voltage in the wrong way.It will fry your chip! V+ should go to + and V- should go to ground. Not the other way round.

Proper grounding.
When constructing any amplifier circuit proper grounding is very important to avoid various noises.Notice at the image of the circuit below ground connections are drawn in two colours-green and brown.Green grounds should be connected together.Brown grounds are also connected together .Green an brown grounds should meet at a SINGLE POINT to avoid distortion and noises.

Proper grounding. There should be two different lines of grounding -green and brown above.
